The Oriole 3 is a light all-around, 3-season tent. The huge vestibule provides great storage space in all weather conditions. In the Oriole 3 there The side door has a double mesh door for optimal venting. Bach has used the very latest innovation in ultra light tent poles for the Oriole 3. This results in a superlight tent by combining the poles and the advanced GorLyn 30 fabric.
The fabric has been constructed using high tenacity nylon 6.6, with a yarn thickness of 30 denier, which has a higher tensile strength than regular and most used nylon in tent construction. The tent floor is made from a 40 denier ripstop nylon with a laminated thermo-plastic polyurethane (TPU) coating of 10.000mm. This strong three person tunnel tent has a stable construction and can be used in spring, summer and autumn and even winter. It can be used at high altitude as well as during local trips in the weekend. It’s a well vented tent eliminating the condensation inside. A full size footprint and an additional add-a-kidsroom are available as options.
Gorlyn
Gorlyn fabric is made from high-strength nylon 6.6, which has a higher tensile strength than normal and is the most commonly used nylon in tent construction. Gorlyn fabric is 4 to 5 times stronger than most other high-end lightweight fabrics used for tents. The weight is lower than regular tent fabrics.
Bach uses a coating of pure silicone, without any other chemicals. The coating is made in three layers, 2 base layers on the back and one layer on the front. This results in a particularly durable and water-repellent protection. The silicone treatment has no influence on the fabric strength of the fabrics, due to the higher melting point of 6.6 nylon.
