Responsible Down Standard (RDS)
The Responsible Down Standard aims to ensure that down and feathers come from animals that are not subjected to unnecessary harm. RDS is an international, voluntary standard that addresses animal welfare in the duck and goose supply chain and the chain of custody of down and feather material from certified farms to the final product. Individual sites are certified by independent certification bodies in annual audits. The Responsible Down Standard is owned and managed by Textile Exchange. Textile Exchange is a global non-profit organization.
With the Global Recycled Standard (GRS), the exact proportion of recycled material in an final product can be recorded and traced. The aim of the GRS is to increase the use of recycled material. It also aims to minimize ecological and chemical risks. A final product must consist of at least 50% recycled materials. The Global Recycled Standard is owned and managed by Textile Exchange. Textile Exchange is a global non-profit organization.
Textile products undergo an extensive manufacturing process. This requires raw materials and other components, e.g. dyeing or chemical auxiliaries. The materials or intermediate products created within the production chain are tested by the independent body bluesign and evaluated using the bluesign CRITERIA. These set consumer protection limits, e.g. to limit chemical substances in textiles and make them more sustainable. The individual, successfully tested components or processes receive the bluesign APPROVED seal.
