GIRO wanted to create a minimalist shoe that retained the supportive structure of the legendary Empire, but took a step forward in style. To achieve this goal, they added structural support through thermoplastic Teijin polyurethane reinforcements to the ultra-lightweight monofilament mesh synchwire upper. The Easton EC90-SLX2 carbon fiber sole gives the shoe optimum stiffness and ensures ideal power transmission. Thanks to the customizable Super Natural Fit footbed, the Empire SLX is a shoe that will give you the best comfort and pedaling efficiency right from the start.
