Sporty design, light weight and sustainable materials: The Coastridge Low ES is a true lightweight and is suitable for easy terrain and paved trails as well as for short day hikes or everyday activities. A mix of materials and fresh color combinations highlight the model's sporty design. Its main material is a polyester-based textile, only heel and toe protection are made of leather. A sustainable detail is the completely PFC-free EcoShell membrane used in this model. Developed in-house by HANWAG, this PU membrane is based on a complex hydrophilic system that achieves waterproofness and breathability while completely eliminating the use of fluorocarbons. Not only the membrane, but the entire shoe is PFC-free. For perfect adhesion between the sole and the upper, as well as the highest quality, provides the Direct Injection technology, in which soft sole material is directly injected and bonded to the upper. As a result, the Hanwag "Hike Light" sole is very light and particularly comfortable for the foot. It consists of cushioning elements - soft heel and toe area made of PU - and stabilizing elements made of rubber in the midfoot area. The multifunctional shoe deliberately has no heel - because the flatter the surface, the less heel a shoe should have to achieve the most harmonious rolling of the foot.
