The GTX Mountain Trainer is a classic low alpine climbing boot with a durable suede upper and waterproof and breathable GORE-TEX extended comfort lining for added comfort.
Designed for extra comfort and protection during your hiking and trekking adventures, whether on technically demanding terrain such as mud, grass or snow. Thanks to the grip of its Vibram-Alpine-Approach sole, this is a reliable shoe, both on rocky trails and via ferrata.
The GTX Mountain Trainer combines the patented SALEWA technologies and thus offers the Alpine Fit 100% bubble-free guarantee: flexible Multi-Fit Footbed Plus (MFF+) with removable insoles for adjustment to the individual foot shape; climbing shoe lacing system down to the toe area for a more precise fit; 3F system for firm support in the heel and ankle area.
The Salewa 3F system combines lacing system, sole and heel - for the perfect combination of fit, flexibility and support.
Climbing Lacing offers precise lacing in the toe area of the shoe for more support and performance in difficult terrain.
Multi Fit Footbed+
Two possible sole elements allow an even more precise adjustment of your foot. Separately included in the box.
Thanks to its curved back, the Flex Collar offers the ankle increased freedom of movement to the rear and thus more comfort on fast descents with large steps.
Did you know that the bad smell of worn shoes is not caused by sweat, but by the bacteria that break it down? In order to neutralise these, "good" bacteria are needed, which feed on the odour-causing microorganisms and thus convert the sweat into water and CO2. In this innovative treatment, which is non-toxic and very environmentally friendly, called Cleansport NXT, 100,000,000 good self-activating microbes adhere to every square centimetre of the fabric. This creates a proactive surface that functions as soon as the pre-treated material comes into contact with sweat.
Both the technical mountaineering shoes and the Approach shoes are all outsoles exclusive to Salewa. They were developed in cooperation with Vibram's technical department with the aim of achieving the highest possible degree of support, durability and comfort. The soles are the contact point between the athlete and the ground.
