Eco Finish VAUDE products with Eco Finish are environmentally friendly and water-repellent without fluorocarbons (PFC). PFC belong to a group of chemical compounds that are used in many outdoor products to impregnate the outer fabric. They have been criticised for not being degradable, accumulating in the body and being suspected of being harmful to health. VAUDE has a clear commitment not to use PFC at all.
UPF 40 Extremelyhigh UV protection so that you can enjoy the sun and mountain sports well protected. A UPF rating of 40 means that a given piece of fabric allows less than 2.5 % (<1/40) of the UV rays that hit it penetrate through. The UV protection is created by the choice of fibres, weave, material thickness or by inserting a titanium dioxide protective screen into the fabric. Titanium dioxide is completely environmentally friendly and has been rated by the EU as harmless.
Stretch The high elasticity of the material is achieved by an elastane content in the material or by the way the material is knitted or woven. The stretchability of the material increases the wearing comfort and performance of the garment, as it offers great freedom of movement.
Bluesign Product Bluesign is the world's strictest standard for environmental protection, consumer protection and occupational safety. All environmentally relevant production aspects are critically examined and permanently optimized: Material use, energy, water, waste water, exhaust air, noise, waste, handling of hazardous substances. A bluesign product may only bear this mark if at least 95 % of all product components have been certified by bluesign.
Green Shape Green Shape is the VAUDE seal of approval for products that are manufactured in a particularly environmentally friendly manner. This includes the complete production cycle from development and production to maintenance and usability after use. The criteria for this are strict. The products must consist either of at least 90 percent organically grown cotton, recycled materials or the Tencel wood fibre. Furthermore, they must have been dyed with the environmentally friendly dyeing process VAUDE eColour or meet the world's strictest environmental textile standard Bluesign. VAUDE's goal is the best for man and nature.
