The VAUDE "PVC-free" seal means that this product is manufactured completely without PVC (polyvinyl chloride). Looks like truck tarpaulin, is just as durable and waterproof, but consists of PU (polyurethane) coated textile fabric instead of PVC. PVC often contains plasticisers (phthalates) which are suspected of being harmful to health.
VAUDE uses recycled materials to manufacture this product, e.g. from PET bottles. This enables them to save up to 50 % on energy and CO2 emissions as well as on fossil raw materials.
VAUDE uses renewable raw materials of vegetable or animal origin to manufacture this product. This saves on raw fossil materials.
Eco Finish: environmentally-friendly, water-repellent DWR VAUDE products, which are provided with the eco finish icon, are water repellent yet environmentally-friendly; manufactured without fluorocarbons (PFC). PFCs belong to a group of chemical compounds made up of fluorine and carbon that man invented a few decades ago. Many PFCs aren’t degradable, accumulate in the food chain and in the body and are suspected of causing cancer. VAUDE is clearly committed to the complete phase-out of PFC technology. VAUDE products with Eco Finish mark have been waterproofed without PFC.
The V-Flow value indicates the strength of the shaft in combination with the midsole and outsole. V-Flow 8 are access or approach shoes for alpine tours and climbing with access in rough terrain, for via ferrata or for securing. They offer you a perfect fit, are light and robust and have a stiff sole for small kicks and climbs.
Fair Wear Foundation

Green Shape is the VAUDE seal of approval for products that are manufactured in a particularly environmentally friendly way. This includes the complete production cycle from development and production to maintenance and usability after use. The criteria for this are strict. The products must consist either of at least 90 percent organically grown cotton, recycled materials or the Tencel wood fibre. Furthermore, they must have been dyed with the environmentally friendly dyeing process VAUDE eColour or meet the world's strictest environmental textile standard Bluesign. VAUDE's goal is the best for man and nature.
